TV: First Look at Ron Bohmer, Jennifer Hope Wills and More in Highlights of Music Circus' SHOW BOAT

Show Boat, the American musical masterpiece with a grand score by Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern that includes the classic songs "Ol' Man River" and "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," is now playing at the Wells Fargo Pavilion through July 14. Generally considered America's first true musical, the show has not been at Music Circus in 12 years, and this is its first time at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The superb cast includes a Tony Award nominee and three veterans of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. BroadwayWorld has a first look at highlights of the show below.

Playing the role of Gaylord Ravenal in this production of Show Boat will be Ron Bohmer, who played the Phantom on a national tour of The Phantom of the Opera and was last at Music Circus in the 2012 production of Spamalot. Magnolia will be played by Jennifer Hope Wills, who played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway for nearly four years and was last at Music Circus ten years ago in Camelot and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Playing Julie will be Nikki Crawford, a TV, film and theater actress whose credits include Stormy Weather, Othello and Play On!

Phillip Boykin, a renowned Broadway actor who was nominated for a Tony Award in 2012 for his performance as Crown in Porgy and Bess, will play the role of Joe. Queenie will be played by Sharon Wilkins, who performed in the original Broadway companies of All Shook Up and Seussical.

Playing Cap'n Andy will be George Lee Andrews, who holds the record for the most performances in the same Broadway show after appearing in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway for nearly 25 years. Music Circus favorite Jennifer Cody, whose Broadway credits include Shrek The Musical, The Pajama Game and Taboo, will play Ellie. Gordon Goodman, who has performed dozens of roles for film, TV and stage, including appearances in several Music Circus productions, will portray the role of Steve. In her Music Circus debut Audrie Neenan, whose Broadway credits include Sister Act, Oklahoma! and The Odd Couple, will play Parthy Ann Hawks. Frank will be played by stage, TV and film actor Jamie Torcellini, who just appeared in the acclaimed Music Circus production of The Wizard of Oz and whose Broadway credits include Me and My Girl, Man of La Mancha and Billy Elliot the Musical. Playing Windy will be Doug Carfrae, who also just appeared in The Wizard of Oz at Music Circus and whose Broadway and touring credits include Ragtime, City of Angels and The Pajama Game.

Director for this production of Show Boat is Glenn Casale, Choreographer is Dan Mojica and Music Director is Dennis Castellano. This will be the 13th Music Circus production of the show. It was the first show ever produced at Music Circus, in 1951; the most recent production was in 2001.
