BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was thrilled to sit down and speak with nearly all of this year's Tony Award nominees at the official Tonys Meet & Greet on May 1, 2013, and we will be bringing you special coverage on all of them throughout the awards season. Today we bring you Valisia LeKae, a nominee for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Motown. Check out what she had to say below!
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, LeKae has been blessed to grace the Broadway stage in numerous productions such as The Book of Mormon, The Threepenny Opera, 110 in the Shade and Ragtime. Other New York credits include the John Denver musical, Almost Heaven, as well as many readings and workshops. Her portrayal of "Sarah" in the Drury Lane production of Ragtime garnered her a 2010 Joseph Jefferson Award and a Black Theatre Alliance nomination.
