BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was thrilled to sit down and speak with nearly all of this year's Tony Award nominees at the official Tonys Meet & Greet on May 1, 2013, and we will be bringing you special coverage on all of them throughout the awards season. Today we bring you Laura Osnes, a nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for Cinderella. Check out what she had to say below!
Laura was nominated for the Tony Award for her performance in Frank Wildhorn's Bonnie & Clyde (Bonnie Parker, San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award). She also starred as Nellie Forbush in South Pacific and appeared in the recent revival of Anything Goes. She made her Broadway debut as Sandy in Grease, having won NBC's reality competition "Grease: You're the One That I Want." In addition to portraying Rodgers + Hammerstein's Nellie Forbush and Cinderella, she recently appeared in their musical Pipe Dream at New York City Center ENCORES! and starred in The Sound of Music in concert at Carnegie Hall.
RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S Cinderella has music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and original book by Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw. Josh Rhodes is choreographer.
