On Tuesday night, September 15, Ambassador and Mrs. Mario L. De Leon Jr., Consul General of the Philippines held a cocktail reception at their residence for the shining star of the Philippines, Lea Salonga celebrating her return to Broadway in the new musical Allegiance.

Joining the group of 50 invited guests were Allegiance producers Lorenzo Thione and Andrew Treagus, Jay Kuo who co-wrote the book and penned the lyrics and music for Allegiance, as well as Lea's co-star George Takei, who is making his Broadway debut at the young age of 78 in the show which is inspired by his life. Allegiance is set to open at the Longacre Theatre on November 8th with previews starting on October 6th.
