Here is Tamika Sonja Lawrence (IF/THEN, MATILDA, RENT, BOOK OF MORMON) singing 'Jukebox' from Akiva Romer-Segal (lyrics), Colleen Dauncey (music) and Sara Farb's (book) new musical BREMEN ROCK CITY!

BREMEN ROCK CITY is a rock n' roll retelling of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Jack is a donkey who escapes the farm to pursue his rockstar dreams. Along the way he convinces some musically gifted stray animals to join him so they can win the Bremen Battle of the Bands. When Jack and his bandmates stop at a roadside diner, they are served by Simon, a shy young rooster. When the jukebox starts playing at the start of this song, Simon reveals his own riff-tastic musical talent that he's been forced to hide. For anyone who has had to keep their passions secret and their voice subdued, Jukebox is an anthem about embracing your talents and letting your freak flag fly.

Colleen Dauncey (Music) and Akiva Romer-Segal (Lyrics) are a Toronto-based songwriting team who have written the scores to THE SUBWAY SONGS, SCENES FROM THE BATHHOUSE (Talk is Free Theatre), BREMEN ROCK CITY (Toronto Fringe Festival), and the upcoming stage musical adaptation of the movie PROM QUEEN. Their songs have been performed internationally by cabaret performers, recording artists, and Broadway stars. Colleen & Akiva were selected as participants in the 2011 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project in Chicago, the Canadian Musical Theatre Project at Sheridan College, the Canadian Musical Theatre Writer Collective, Acting Up Stage's Noteworthy program for songwriters and librettists, and Theatre 20's Composium initiative. They have received multiple grants from the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent On Records (FACTOR) and the Ontario Arts Council, including being selected as the Writers-in-Residence at Talk is Free Theatre in Barrie, Ontario.
