Eight performances a week, the Richard Rodgers Theater comes to dynamic life with the passionate music and lyric's of Lin-Manuel Miranda's energetic musical "In the Heights." Now BroadwayWorld takes you behind the scenes and in the pit of this dynamic new musical as Eddie Varley interviews Musical Director Alex Lacamoire and Arranger, Bill Sherman in this exclusive video!

Miranda wrote the music and the lyrics for this upbeat love note to Manhattan's Washington Heights, and as all good musical theater fans know, the art of creating a Broadway show is how the alchemy of colabration comes about, In the Heights is proof of that! The production's creative team also includes the inspired talents of Alex Lacamoire (Wicked, Bat Boy, Legally Blonde) as it's music director. The musical arrangements and orchestrations are by Lacamoire and Bill Sherman, Sherman has been working on the show since it's very first moments of "birth".

The pulsing mix of hip hop, salsa and old fashioned Broadway ballads showcase the talented cast and show's eclectic orchestra, the men behind this world wind of melodic style gave BroadwayWorld an all access pass behind the scenes to show you what it takes to bring this glorious New York based tale to vivid life!

In The Heights officially opened on Sunday, March 9, 2008 on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theater. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In the Heights is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler. The After Party was held at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers.

"In The Heights is the quintessential New York musical, about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition," explain press notes.

Tickets for In the Heights range from $21.50 to $111.50, and can be purchased at the Richard Rodgers Box Office or at www.ticketmaster.com. Lottery front-row tickets ($26.50) are available two-hours before curtain.
