Now back on the Broadway stage, actress/singer/performer Michele Lee, a two-time Tony and Emmy Award nominee, has joined the cast of the smash musical "Wicked," playing the role of Madame Morrible in the hit show at the Gershwin Theater in New York City. Ms. Lee is actually back on the same stage where her career ignited when she starred in the Cy Coleman/Dorothy Fields musical Seesaw in 1973, back when it was called the Uris Theater. Portraying the lead role of Gittel Mosca in Michael Bennett's "Seesaw" earned Ms. Lee her first Tony nomination, along with winning her the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Actress. Of course, by this time she had already appeared on Broadway in Bravo Giovanni with Metropolitan Opera's Cesare Siepe, which led to her breakout role as Rosemary Pilkington in the classic original production of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" opposite Robert Morse, and she went on to win NATO star of the year award for the movie version.
