They could never leave you. Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner are performing together in NYC for the first time in nearly nine years. The duo received a Tony Award co-nomination for their role(s) as the conjoined twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton, in the original Broadway production of Side Show; separately, Alice and Emily have starred in numerous other Broadway shows including The Full Monty, Next To Normal, Billy Elliot, The Rocky Horror Show, and many more. Alice Ripley received the Tony Award and Helen Hayes Award for Best Actress in a Musical for "Next to Normal," as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. She starred in the original Broadway casts of "Side Show," "The Rocky Horror Show," "James Joyce's The Dead," "Sunset Boulevard," and "The Who's Tommy." She also appeared on Broadway and on National tour in "LES MISERABLES," and in Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions of "Next to Normal," "Five Flights," "James Joyce's The Dead," "The Vagina Monologues," "Tell Me on a Sunday," "Shakespeare in Hollywood," and "Company." Her recordings include Next to Normal, Little Fish, Skinner/Ripley: Raw at Town Hall, Sondheim: The Stephen Sondheim Album, Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, The Rocky Horror Show, The Stephen Schwartz Album, Duets. Unsuspecting Hearts, Side Show, and The Who's Tommy. With her band RIPLEY, Alice has written and produced the albums Everything's Fine (2001, Sh-K-Boom Records), Ripley EP (2003), Outtasite (2006).
Emily Skinner has established herself as one of Broadway's most engaging and versatile performers. Most recently she has starred as Adelaide in the world premiere of "The Great American Mousical" at Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre under the direction of Dame Julie Andrews and then in Prince of Broadway in Japan. She also recently created the role of Monique McCandless in Stephen King/John Mellencamp's new musical "The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County" at the Alliance Theatre and on a multi-city rock n' roll concert tour. She last appeared on Broadway in the acclaimed musical "Billy Elliot," as the very first American selected to play the role of Billy's dance teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson. Emily was nominated for a Tony Award (with Alice Ripley) and received a Drama League Award for her performance as Daisy Hilton in the "Side Show." Her other original Broadway cast credits include "Jekyll & Hyde," "James Joyce's The Dead" (opposite Christopher Walken), "The Full Monty," "Dinner at Eight," and The Actors Fund productions of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," and "Dreamgirls."
