Welcome to BroadwayWorld's exclusive talk show, BACKSTAGE WITH RICHARD RIDGE. Follow Richard as he visits the theater's best and brightest in their dressing rooms, on their stages and favorite hang outs to talk about their lives, careers and all of the things you don't know, but want to know.
This time it's Broadway's new "It Boy" Josh Young, who is wowing fans and critics alike as "Judas" in the new revival of Jesus Christ Superstar. During their chat, Young got candid about his physical journey to becoming a leading man, when he first had a premonition that playing "Judas" would someday be his breakout, and why he considers himself truly blessed.
As a member of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Young appeared in The Grapes of Wrath (Connie), Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas Iscariot), Evita (Che), and Kiss Me, Kate (Paul). Elsewhere, he's appeared in Les Misérables (Marius, U.S. tour), West Side Story (Tony, 50th-anniversary international tour), and A Little Night Music (Henrik, Baltimore Center Stage). He has also released a self-titled debut album and has a second, Still Dreaming of Paradise, a mix of re-imagined Broadway songs and pop classics due out in August.
