In True Hollywood, stars-studded fashion, BWW TV Los Angeles Correspondent and Co-Producer Michael Sterling, along with Co-Producer/Videographer Jordan Santacana captured LA's first official day of summer at the historic, world renowned Hollywood Bowl where an audience of 18,000 celebrated the landmark's 93rd season and 15th Annual Hall of Fame to which the delicious concoction of Pink Martini, pop icons the Go-Go's, and Broadway mega star and American treasure Kristin Chenoweth were honored and inducted.
As if that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, the world class state-of the-art amphitheater was also named Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue in the U.S. for its 10th consecutive year at the 25th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. Also participating in the night's festivities were such stars as Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson, Producer Nigel Lythgoe, film and TV legend Anne Jeffreys, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Conductor Thomas Wilkins, Academy Award winner Helen Hunt, Grammy nominated recording star Natasha Bedingfield, beloved television stars Carol Burnett and Barbara Eden; Cybill Shepherd, Sarah Michelle Geller, Kathy Griffin, Madmen's Jay R. Ferguson, and a Glee's Lea Michele.
However, the evening's most emotional celebrating came by way of raising more than $1,000,000 for the Los Angeles Philharmonic's many educational and community programs, which serve more than 150,000 youth, families and teachers every year. Proof positive of the organization's philanthropic efforts was a majestic performance of "Marquez" Danon No 2 (abridged) by the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles under conducted by Thomas Wilkins. As always, the event concluded with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra supporting a spectacular display of specially programmed fireworks showcased above the Bowl's famed shell.
