On Monday, April 24th and Tuesday, April 25th, The New Amsterdam Theater will host stars of The Great White Way for the 20th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition. What started out in 1987, backstage at the Palace Theater raising approximately 18 thousand dollars, has grown by leaps and bounds to a star-studded event which has raised well over 20 million dollars (in total) for BC/EFA. BroadwayWorld.com is pleased to bring you a special retrospective look at Bonnets past featuring such favorites as Joel Grey, Bernadette Peters, Idina Menzel, Laurie Beechman, Nancy LaMott, Jerry Lewis, Jane Krakowski, Gwen Verdon, Tom Hulce, Elaine Stritch, Johnny Mathis, Barbara Cook and more!

You'll also get to see performances from casts both past and present including Les Miserables, Cats, Avenue Q, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, La Cage Aux Folles, Urinetown, Little Women, Damn Yankees, Footloose, Good Vibrations, RENT, Beauty and the Beast, and the very special segment at the end!

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fund raising and grant making organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the American theater community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since it's founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $100 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV, or HIV-related illnesses.
