Last year, BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater website on the Internet, launched a comprehensive Student Database listing college and university performing arts programs across the country. This free service makes it easier for prospective students by showcasing programs searchable by schools, location, degrees and concentrations.
With the new school year in full gear, BWW has updated the fully-interactive Student Show Calendar with 2011-2012 student productions. We have also made it easy for schools to upload photos, videos, cast lists, articles and other media content for each of their shows. In addition, BWW will be combing through all content regularly and will launch weekly feature stories highlighting productions locally and nationally that have provided us with this extra content.

Today, BWW is thrilled to feature the The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID! The Theatre Arts program at UI offers undergraduate and graduate degree options, as well as a competitive Bachelor of Fine Arts degree for students seeking to pursue professional careers in theatre. Students working toward the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Theatre are immersed in acting, stage technology, history, design, dramatic writing, and literature. The 3-year Master of Fine Arts program is the only of its kind in the state of Idaho. Graduate students can opt to focus on design, directing, performance or technical theatre as part of their curriculum. The department emphasizes practicum experience as part of the Theatre Arts curriculum. Students engage in extensive production work that enables them to apply skills and knowledge beyond the classrom. Past productions include 'Up', 'August, Osage County', 'The Mikado', and 'Winter's Tale'. The lineup for the 2012-2013 production season was recently announced with 'Anton in Show Business' and 'Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter' slated during Fall semester while the Spring semester wil offer 'Twelfth Night' and 'Three Strikes to First'.
Rounding off the current academic year is the Broadway musical comedy 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' directed by David Lee-Painter and running from April 26-29 and May 3-5 in the UI Hartung Theate.
