Everyone knows at least one song by the Beatles. The band that changed music is hard not to know. As the generation who grew up listening to their music become grandparents, the nostalgia keeps audiences begging for more memories. RAIN: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES is currently touring North America and is drawing in many generations. As the show went through each era of the Beatles' music, it put into perspective the evolution of their music at a time when the world was growing and changing. It gave the audience a real peek into how the Beatles' music changed as the band grew and matured. RAIN shows the talents of the Beatles and the music that shaped a generation.
But, let's not dismiss the talent the makes up the cast of RAIN. Currently performing in the show are seasoned performers Ian B. Garcia as Paul McCartney, Doug Cox as Ringo Starr, Jim Irizarry as John Lennon and Alastar McNeil as George Harrison. Many times during their performance, you forgot you were watching a tribute band and it felt as if you were really at a Beatles concert (minus all the screaming and fainting girls). As Garcia sang "Yesterday," "Let it Be," and "Hey, Jude" he sounded exactly like Paul McCartney himself. He hit the notes perfectly and played the bass and piano like the real Beatle. His vocals were amazing and he sang with true feeling. Cox as Ringo Starr was a wonderful drummer, playing very professionally and with confidence. Irizarry as Lennon had the sound and mannerisms down perfectly. His versions of "In My Life," and Strawberry Fields" made many remember the days when John Lennon himself was singing and playing. And newcomer, McNeil received a standing ovation for his guitar solos in "Here Comes the Sun" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Everyone at the show wished for more and more and more.
RAIN continues its North American Tour. Check out their website for dates and locations.
