The hit, Tony-winning revival of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH closes on Broadway today, September 13, 2015. Taye Diggs, the show's current star, wraps the run. At the time of closing, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH will have played 22 previews and 506 regular performances at the Belasco Theatre. Below, BroadwayWorld takes you from Broadway's first HEDWIG to its sixth, stopping to remember everything in between!

The Broadway production of the John Cameron Mitchell-Stephen Trask musical opened to great acclaim and box office success with original star Neil Patrick Harris in 2014. Since then, Andrew Rannells, Michael C. Hall, Mitchell himself, Darren Criss and Diggs have stepped into Hedwig's shoes on the Great White Way.

The creative team for Hedwig and the Angry Inch features Emmy Award nominee Spencer Liff (musical staging), Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Julian Crouch (scenic design), Tony Award and two-time Oscar nominee Arianne Phillips (costume design), four-time Tony Award winner Kevin Adams(lighting design), Mike Potter(hair and makeup design), Tony Award nominee and platinum-selling record producer Tim O'Heir (sound design), Benjamin Pearcy for 59 Productions (projection design), John Bair/Phosphene (animation), James Calleri (casting), Tony and Grammy Award nominee Ethan Popp (music supervisor & music coordinator), Justin Craig (music director), Liz Caplan (vocal supervision), Stephen Gabis (dialect coach), and Johanna McKeon (associate director).

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, with book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, directed by Michael Mayer, follows "internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Robinson, who brings her fourth-wall-smashing rock and roll saga to New York to set the record straight about her life, her loves, and the botched operation that left her with that "angry inch."

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, led by Neil Patrick Harris, began previews on March 29, 2014, and BroadwayWorld got a first look (photos by Joan Marcus) at he and Lena Hall (as Yitzhak) in action!

Harris made his official Broadway return (read the reviews!) in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on April 22, 2014. We were there to capture the opening night bows (photos by Walter McBride), red carpet, after party and more -- check it out below!

HEDWIG is the winner of four 2014 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. It was also awarded Best Musical Revival by the Drama Desk Awards, Drama League Awards, and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Both before and after the Tonys ceremony, we caught up with the nominees and winners! Plus watch NPH perform "Sugar Daddy" during the show!

Shortly after the Tonys, HEDWIG released its official cast album, which was nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Musical Theater Album. See Neil Patrick Harris in the recording studio below!

Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (THE BOOK OF MORMON) was the first to succeed Neil Patrick Harris in HEDWIG on Broadway. Rannells took on the title role starting August 20, 2014. Check him out onstage below (photos by Joan Marcus)!

DEXTER's Michael C. Hall was next in line for the role, beginning October 16, 2014 at the Belasco. This was Hall's first musical theatre role in more than a decade, after runs in Broadway's CABARET and CHICAGO. See him in action (photos by Joan Marcus) below, plus a peek at his opening night curtain call (photos by Walter McBride)!

HEDWIG fans across the globe rejoiced at the news that creator and original star John Cameron Mitchell would be returning in the title role this January. Scroll down for a look at Mitchell onstage (photos by Joan Marcus) and his opening bows (photos by Walter McBride)!

After an extended run as HEDWIG, John Cameron Mitchell handed over the reins to GLEE star Darren Criss. Lena Hall also departed the show on April 4, 2015 (with all of the former Hedwigs at her last curtain call - photo by Kevin Thomas Garcia) to make way for Rebecca Naomi Jones in the role of 'Yitzhak.

And last but not least, Taye Diggs returned to Broadway on July 22, 2015 as our favorite song stylist, after a decade-long hiatus from the Great White Way. See him onstage (photos by Joan Marcus) and during curtain call (photos by Walter McBride) below!

During its run on Broadway, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH recouped, prompted John Cameron Mitchell to reveal more about his HEDWIG sequel, considered Miley Cyrus for the lead (oh, dear), and toyed with the idea of a National Tour. Whatever happens, we're certain this isn't the last of HEDWIG -- just try and tear it down!
