YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, the Pulitzer Prize-winning revival by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, marks its final performance this afternoon, February 22, 2015. It will have played for 208 performances at Broadway's Longacre Theatre. Below, BroadwayWorld takes you back through the revival's run on the Great White Way!
YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WTIH YOU is about the Sycamores and the Kirbys -- two completely different families whose worlds collide when their children become engaged. The Sycamore family may seem like the mad ones with their galaxy of unique and zany characters, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder.
In April 2014, it was announced that an all-star revival of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's classic play YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, headed by Tony Award winner James Earl Jones, would arrive on Broadway that fall.
Soon after the announcement, the full company met the press in anticipation of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU's first performance. BWW's Richard Ridge was on hand to chat with the actors - watch the interviews below!
The production also held feline auditions for the two kittens featured in the show!
