Here is the latest entry in BroadwayWorld's new weekly feature - STAGE ART. This new offering will highlight the very best of Broadway theatre and beyond with new beautifully designed artwork.
Showcasing the digital paintings of our new resident artist, STAGE ART appears every Friday on BroadwayWorld as our love letter to the great talent, costume design and scenery that lights up the stages of the world. The series launched with LYSISTRATA JONES, THE WIZARD OF OZ, the Broadway revival of FOLLIES, THE GERSHWIN'S PORGY AND BESS, CARRIE, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, ONCE, NEWSIES, EVITA, INTO THE WOODS, and more.
This week - it's all about CHAPLIN! Broadway's new musical CHAPLIN opened on September 10 at the Barrymore Theatre. CHAPLIN depicts the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan and Christopher Curtis. Warren Carlyle directs and choreographs the production.
CHAPLIN stars Rob McClure in the title role, and also features Jim Borstelmann (Alf Reeves), Jenn Colella (Hedda Hopper), Erin Mackey (Oona O’Neill), Michael McCormick (Sennett, McGranery, Emcee), Christiane Noll (Hannah Chaplin), Zachary Unger (Young Charlie, Jackie) and Wayne Alan Wilcox (Sydney Chaplin).Click here to visit the STAGE ART GALLERY.
