As Seen In: SMASH

Latest Project: Debut EP "FunkyPunk"

Writing Process: I think every artist has their own process - and there isn't really a right or wrong way to go about expressing oneself when it comes to music. As far as myself - it really depends on the mood I'm in and what's on my mind. Sometimes I will wake up with a melody in my head and rush to the piano before I forget it. Sometimes a memory or a situation will garner me the inspiration I need. Other times I may be asked to write something specific for someone - and I'll try to tailor the music to my idea of who they are.

Musical Point of View: I think the most incredible thing about music is its ability to reach just about anyone. It's a universal language on our planet. No matter who you are - music has touched you at some point in your life - and in that sense I find it extraordinary. When I write music - listen to music - or share music - it's all about that connection for me. "FunkyPunk" is just a small example of my writing style - but I think it reflects who I am currently on the path of my human development. I'm at a place in my life where I have kind of accepted who I am in relation to who it is that I want to be - and that's a wonderful feeling. I want to encourage others to be who they are as loudly and as brightly as possible. You only get to do this "Life" thing once, so hiding your light is not an option. I'm passionate. I'm stubborn. I'm loyal. I'm messy. I'm a work in progress. And that's alright with me.

Song that defines you: On this EP, "December" is pretty personal to me.

Music influences: Janelle Monae, Stevie Wonder, Aerosmith, Queen, D'Angelo, Maxwell, The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens, Sam Sparro. The list goes on...
