Faustus, The Musical is a new piece written by Michael Mott and Justin Silvestri. An entanglement of various musical styles, this epic musical explores the great duality of human motivation; self-love and self-sacrifice.
In 2011, Faustus held two table readings in NYC as well as a world premiere concert in Utica, NY. Influenced by Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus and Goethe's Faust, Faustus, The Musical features music and lyrics by Michael Mott, book by Justin Silvestri, arrangements by Jeff Theiss and direction by Jeff Whiting.
On Saturday, January 28, 2012, the show will compete in the Manhattan Theatre Mission's Festival of New Musicals, directed by Brandon Ivie. A ten track demo recording has just been completed featuring Broadway's Laura Osnes (Bonnie & Clyde, Anything Goes), Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde, West Side Story), Lisa Vroman (Phantom of the Opera), Zachary James (The Addams Family, South Pacific), Paul Schaefer (Phantom of the Opera), Michael Hunsaker and Kimberly Burns.
BroadwayWorld has gotten exclusive access to one of the show's demo tracks, recorded by Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes, one of Broadway's favorite dynamic duos, and brings you a first listen below!
