We did it!
We opened the "Rhythm of Life" in Jack London State Park
and the musical "Hamilton" opened on Broadway.
Some Similarities between "Rhythm of Life" and "Hamilton":
*People are rushing to buy tickets
*There is hip hop and rap (prepare yourself)
*History is being made and repeated (Transcendence's kickin band is onstage again and 90% of our cast is comprised of people from different moments in my life)
*28 Cast Members (largest cast in Transcendence's history)
*Music is being recorded to give to fans (wait for it)
*Multi-Ethnic cast
*Plenty of facial hair and fancy costumes
*The music makes you wanna get up and dance!!!!!!
Fun Fact: Doctors place music with a 4/4 time signature in the incubators of prematurely born babies to resync the rhythm of their hearts. They are used to hearing and following their mothers heartbeat. So the Rhythm of Life/Love is in a 4/4 meter. That is why those anthemic songs ("My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, "Single Ladies" by Beyoncé, "Rainbow Connection" by Kermit, etc...) make you feel good and wanna dance!
So all that aside,
Transcendence also launched a really cool initiative this week called
the TRANSCENDENCE EXPERIENCES.
You may ask, "Nick, what is that?"
Here is the official verbage:
"Transcendence Experiences will be new and expanded offerings from Transcendence. Examples include performing at corporate events, private parties, weddings, birthdays, holiday gatherings, and special events. A key expansion will be in creating and delivering classes and master classes in dance, performance and other areas for both kids and adults."
This is a HUGE push to help sustain TRANSCENDENCE Artists year round that move to Sonoma Valley as well as introduce Transcendence to a larger audience in the valley.
Pretty cool right?
It also appears that myself and Shannon O'Bryan (fellow Transcendence Resident Integrative Artist and my lady love) are moving to Sonoma Valley long term! We have no idea what will come next, but we are super excited to see how life will unfold back on this side of the Earth. Neither of us has ever really lived in one place longer than a year straight, so it's going to be fun to plant some roots in this beautiful community!
Alone, someone can change the world with love and the arts! But together, we can all do it LOUDER and with brighter colors!
The EARTH without ART is just "eh"
