Hello friends!  This week we get a break from the promo events for "Rock Of Ages".  It was a whirlwind for the past few weeks but it was a ton of fun!

It’s hard to believe but it’s been almost 12 years since I first moved here to pursue a career in musical theater. 12 years!!!  It seems like another life time ago. I was young, naive, and really, really excited to be in NYC!  In 2006 I moved from NYC to Chicago to perform in the sit-down company of "Wicked", and I did not return to NYC until this past February. In those six years away from New York I lived in Chicago, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, back to Los Angeles and then toured the country for 9 months. Yes, I am a true gypsy.

Since returning to New York this year I have been having a refreshed love affair with the city. It’s one of the most sophisticated and hip cities in the world and I feel lucky to live here. I find myself in Central Park at least 3 days a week -- either working out or sitting at Bethesda Fountain; or wandering downtown and ending up at the 9/11 memorial. I have also activated a membership to one of my favorite museums in the city "The American Museum of Natural History". If you have never been there, I suggest you go immediately and check out the Planetarium.

Sure, the city sometimes makes me want to pull my hair out, and scream at a cabbie who won’t stop honking....but those moments are rare. I really recommend you get lost in the streets of NYC and explore with no exact destination in mind.

As I said in my previous blog I am a huge music fan and am always trying to listen to new stuff. I thought it might be fun to include my top ten songs played this week so you can get an idea of what I am listening to and maybe check out some of the music for yourself. Some of the songs are to pump me up before the show, and others are to wind me down after....

Until next time....

1. Mykonos-Fleet Foxes
2. Swagger Jagger-Cher Lloyd
3. Deepest Ocean Blue-Tristan Prettyman
4. The Forgiver-Parker Ainsworth
5. New York to California-Mat Kearny
6. Acapella-David Guetta
7. Circumambient-Grimes
8. Here Comes the Weekend-Pink
9. Thinkn Bout You-Frank Ocean
10. When I'm Alone-Lissie
