My mother has been reading my blog and her sole piece of advice is to stop talking about my baby. "Remember, NO ONE cares about your kids," she told me, with capital letters and all. "They all have their own and they think theirs are just as special."

Okay, Mom, thanks. Now of course I am extra careful about my tendency to drone when I'm meeting new people. Most of the cast doesn't have kids, although I have established a better rapport with fellow cast member Zach, whom I met on the first day. He has a nine-month-year old named Fiona. We both have a weakness for baby Halloween costumes. (Delilah's going as a mermaid. Okay, Mom, that's all I'll say about the baby!)

The show is coming along. Rehearsals run from 3 to 11 every day, and the last hour can be challenging for everybody. Our days are scheduled that way because most of the cast comes from LA to Long Beach, and traffic is such a problem here that everyone works around it.

The Musical Theatre West Guild provides snacks during rehearsal. This is going to be a problem the next time I step on a scale, but overall it's great. It's the closest thing to Craft Services I've ever encountered rehearsing a musical. Instead of ready-made omelets, there are Red Vines and organic cookies. (Why are Red Vines so good when they're actually so gross?) During tech-which is just two weeks away-this same Guild provides meals over dinner break. If there's one thing an actor loves, it's free food. Those Red Vines are going fast.
