BLOG POST #2
The Sycamore Family Blog, Post 2
An actor's life is extremely glamorous and follows a grand tradition. The Longacre Theatre is a historic landmark, dating all the way back to it's first production in 1913. Consequently, it's a bit of an archeological site.
It's a two-show day here at YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU so we're spending all day at the theater. And while it's nice to be inside on a cold day, the backstage area of a Broadway theater tends to be a bit musty. Our greenroom is the same one Lee J. Cobb sat in between scenes inWaiting For Lefty. If you dig behind the couch cushions, you could probably find his pocketchange. Our bathrooms have been graced by the likes of Zero Mostel and Basil Rathbone. Julie Harris breathed the same dust we breathe. The cockroaches we see here probably crawled across the toes of Eli Wallach and Boris Karloff.
Which brings us to our next backstage video. Reg Rogers plays "Boris Kolenkhov" in YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU. And he has a very strange phobia he'd like to share with you. A phobia that makes him a card-carrying member of the Sycamore family.
