BWW Blog: Aimee Hunsinger - Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome!

Hello. My name is Aimee and I will be your tour guide to anything and everything Millbrook Playhouse. I am super excited to share my experiences this summer with you. Millbrook Playhouse is a unique theater that used to be a barn. It has been open for over 50 years, and I have been with the barn for 11 of those years! (Including this summer season) This summer I will be in Peace Love and Cupcakes, The Little Mermaid, and the Teen Performing Arts Academy's production of Into The Woods Jr. I will write about performances, rehearsals, and the fabulous adventures with my wacky friends.

I would like to spend this first blog having you get to know me. I am 16 going on 17. I will be an upcoming senior next year in high school. I am a varsity cheerleader and have gone to districts and regionals on my clarinet. I have played Agnes in Just So Stories, Proctor in Around the World in 80 Days, and numerous other roles. My favorite character I got to play was Elle Woods in last year's team Performing Arts Academy production Legally Blonde Jr.

My school just released next year's Productions and I am beyond excited. Next year's play will be Anne of Green Gables and next year's musical will be the one and only Grease! My school's director is someone who works at Millbrook. He is the best and I can't wait to work with him again this summer. This weekend is The Ray of Light Awards, which is an award ceremony similar to the Tonys for local high schools. I am planning to blog at this event as well.

Rehearsals for this summer start very soon. I'm excited cause I get to work with my friends and talented actors. I plan to take you behind the scenes of what happens on the daily life of a Millbrook actor. You get to meet my friends and maybe a "family member" or two. I also plan to give you a tour of the barn and interview a few actors, techies, and interns. You'll see what happens at this wonderful place located in the middle of no-where. I will also be spending my birthday at the barn. I always enjoy having my birthday at the barn! Plus this year one of my close friends whose birthday is 3 days later than mine gets to enjoy this experience too!

This year I get to be with many friends and perform more than one show with them. I always enjoy performing shows with my friends. Especially when two of them go to different schools and another is just about to graduate. I always love coming back to the barn to spend my summer with the best people. Plus this year in Peace Love and Cupcakes I get to play Meredith the antagonist, and one of my best friends is playing Kylie the protagonist. We both know that this is going to be a challenge, but we'll make it work.
