Hello Broadway World! Have you purchased our CD yet? I still can't believe that it's out, and that we've reached my final guest blog for Broadway World! Now I know some of you may be wondering what comes next for the Shapiro Sisters after completing our series of cabaret at 54 BELOW, and releasing our CD. There are a few very exciting projects we have in the works...
First off, I am going to be returning to 54 BELOW. Recently I've been working with Andrew Lippa, Brian Crawley and Van Dean to create a concert adaptation of A Little Princess, to be performed at 54 BELOW December 8th and 16th (http://54below.com/artist/andrew-lippas-a-little-princess-in-concert-2/). My favorite musical! It has always been my dream role to play Sara Crewe in this musical, and I'm actually getting to do so at 54 BELOW! What a dream come true! This special holiday season performance will also feature composer Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, I Am Harvey Milk) as Captain Crewe and many Broadway stars to be announced soon.
Since it's a shortened concert version of the show, we will just be performing the songs while a narrator depicts the story. Now, we are starting casting, which I am quite excited about. This is going to be different from the cabaret Milly and I did, because it is a reworked rendition of the musical, and currently Brian Crawley is working to craft the narration for the show...
I am also going to continue my blogging as a teen staff writer and reviewer for BroadwayVoice! Be sure to check out the website and watch for my reviews coming soon!!! It's been such a great experience writing every week for Broadway World, so I'm excited to be able to continue sharing some of my thoughts with you.
I am beyond ecstatic to be able to be pursuing my dreams. You can purchase tickets for A Little Princess now on the 54 BELOW website!!! Thank you so much Broadway World for giving me the opportunity to be a guest blogger. I couldn't have been more thrilled. Two years ago today, when I was living in FL dreaming of a life like this, I would've never expected to be where I am now. My sister and I were determined to chase our dreams, and I can't believe that both of us have come this far. THANK YOU SO MUCH BROADWAY WORLD!!!
