ABC Family has just released a clip from its upcoming new drama series, BUNHEADS, starring Broadway vets Sutton Foster and Kelly Bishop. The series will premiere Monday, June 11th at 9:00pm ET/PT. In the clip, Foster's character, dancer Michelle, has her first meeting with her formidable mother-in-law, played by Bishop, when her new husband brings her home.
BUNHEADS is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law's dance school. Executive-produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino ("Gilmore Girls") the cast also includes Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont.
Foster has received two Tony Awards, in 2002 for Thoroughly Modern Millie and in 2011 for Anything Goes. Her other Broadway credits include Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical.
Kelly Bishop's breakout role was Sheila in Michael Bennett's 'A Chorus Line' for which she garnered Tony and Drama Desk awards. Her Broadway credits include Neil Simon's Proposals, The Last Night of Ballyhoo and Six Degrees of Separation at Lincoln Center. Her film work includes An Unmarried Woman, Dirty Dancing and Miami Rhapsody. On TV, Bishop starred for seven years as Emily Gilmore on "The Gilmore Girls."
