While ballet-themed, performing arts-centric ABC Family series Bunheads starring Broadway headliner Sutton Foster unfortunately has been cancelled by the cable network, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has created a special send-off video salute spotlighting the dances, dancers and dancing that made the cult series so memorable as a gift to the fans.
Showcasing series stars and real-life ballerinas Bailey Buntain, Julia Goldani Telles, Kaitlyn Jenkins and Jeanine Mason, the spirited sequence is comprised of many Marguerite Derricks-choreographed moments from the many musical numbers performed throughout the series, all set to the moody and melancholy Elton John rocker "Blues For Baby And Me". It was recorded on August 17. Unfortunately, neither Sutton Foster nor Kelly Bishop is involved, alas.
Additionally, the clip features additional dancers given a moment or two to shine throughout the run of the series, such as Matisse Love, Ra'Jahnae "Rae Rae" Patterson, Colleen Craig, Maine Kawashima, Eli Gruska, Adam Bernstein, Edgar Khachaturov, Kara Hess and Micah Moch.
Lastly, a final title card gives the fans the final word: "For everyone who came to play in our sandbox - we thank you."
