The play, directed by Art Bernal and co-produced by Work of Art Productions and Ragone Enterprises and Productions, performs Wed. July 19th at 6 pm, Fri. July 21 at 7 pm, and Sun. July 23 at 2:15 pm at the Jewel Box Theatre. (312 West 36th St).
Playwright Roberto Ragone describes BROMANCE-A-RONI as "The Odd Couple and Abbott & Costello in a not-so-subtle sorting out contemporary issues."
BROMANCE-A-RONI tells the story of what happens when Richie comes over for another routine dinner at Matt's home. Matt realizes Richie's entire future depends on having him relax and loosen up and deliver great jokes. Then the audience starts to wonder who in the room is the one who has a problem - Richie (Roberto Ragone), Matt (George Papadimatos), or Matt's wife, Annie (Jessica Barrish) or Annie's friend and business advisor, Susan (Maya Kurokouchi).
Ragone said portions of the Bromance-A-Roni dialogue and story have formulated over time since 2010. The story is loosely based on a combination of funny and serious conversations between himself and three close friends. Bromance-A-Roni is a one-act and part of his Chronicles of An Asshole Buddy.
