BRIGHT STAR's Paul Alexander Nolan Will Take to the Courtroom as 'Billy Flynn' in CHICAGO

The Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago announced today that Paul Alexander Nolan will return to Broadway as "Billy Flynn" beginning Monday, October 31 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St., NYC). Jason Danieley will play his final performance in the role on October 30.

Paul Alexander Nolan has appeared on Broadway in Bright Star (Drama Desk nomination), Doctor Zhivago (Outer Critics Circle nomination), Once (Guy) and Jesus Christ Superstar (Jesus). He has appeared off-Broadway in Daddy Long Legs (Jervis). Regional credits include Aida (Kansas City Starlight); Jesus Christ Superstar and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (La Jolla Playhouse); six seasons with the Stratford Festival, including As You Like It (Orlando), The Grapes of Wrath (Al), Cyrano de Bergerac (Valvert), West Side Story (Tony, dir. Gary Griffin), Jesus Christ Superstar and The Who's Tommy (Cousin Kevin).

Chicago currently also stars Veronica Dunne as Roxie Hart (through November 26 only), Lana Gordon as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics byFred Ebb, Chicago is now the #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history.

Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, Chicago is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.
