When Australian photographer, Chris Fawkes started Facebook Wedding Photographers two years ago, he simply wanted to build a forum for photographers interested in wedding images. He never anticipated that today his vision would be approaching 12,000 members from all over the world.

At 3000 members approximately eight months ago, Fawkes and Skip Cohen started working together as co-administrators of the forum. They made some serious changes and grew the forum by over 1000 photographers a month.

"The biggest growth came when we made it a closed group," commented Cohen. "By only allowing members to see what was posted we started to create a stronger educational resource for professional photographers."

Fawkes and Cohen took the Facebook forum to a new level when they recently launched a contest, "Bridal Couples", exclusive to the membership of the forum. Working with ViewBug.com one of the largest photographic contest sites on the Internet, the contest has received some remarkable images. Prizes include products from Venice Album, Photodex and SmugMug. Plus, the winning images will be published in Resource Magazine, both in print and online.

The contest deadline for entries is November 10, 2013 and the first two entries are free for members of Facebook Wedding Photographers.

Cohen went on to comment, "Any photographic contest can only be as good as the quality of work entered. We wanted to really make this one special and so appreciate Justin and Mary Marantz being willing to participate as judges! It doesn't get much better than having two of the finest wedding photographers in the U.S. involved!"
