Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to announce its 2018 - 2019 Theatre Season. Transporting us through morphing realities, magical thinking, activism, and the power of love, our new season will surely spark interest in friends of all ages.
An award-winning, non-profit, community theatre, Bainbridge Performing Arts' 2018 - 2019 lineup is steeped in intrigue, heart, and humor. In the words of Kim Hastings with AXS, "Bainbridge Performing Arts could be a primer to the other theaters in the south and mid-Sound on how to do things the right way." Vibrant performances, hit shows, and breathtaking artistry have emerged as the BPA trademark, and - in recent years - BPA has drawn increasing awards and accolades from BroadwayWorld Seattle, Kitsap Sun, South Sound Critics Association, and more.
Don't miss a minute of BPA's 2018 - 2019 Season: RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET, Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece opens the season October 12 - 28, 2018. Based on the classic 1939 film of the same name, THE WIZARD OF OZ brings holiday enchantment for all ages December 7 - 22, 2018. Get ready for a bold, brave and blisteringly funny new work about feminism, legacy and standing up for one's beliefs with THE REVOLUTIONISTS and a heady spring offering on March 8 - 24, 2019. In a scented case of mistaken identity and letter writing, SHE LOVES ME - running May 3 - 19, 2019 - recounts the tale of two feuding perfume clerks have no idea that they are in love. Thought to be the sunniest of all Shakespeare's comedies, AS YOU LIKE IT will wrap up the season with The Bard at Bloedel: BPA's 7th Annual Summertime Shakespeare offering.
BPA's Theatre Season is rounded out by Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, The EDGE Improv, BPA Theatre School classes and performances, and a whole lot more.
Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra presents a four-concert classical series featuring a star-studded cast of guest performers, masterworks, beloved favorites, original compositions, and special collaborations on November 10 & 11, 2018, February 16 & 17, 2019, April 13 & 14, 2019, and June 8 & 9, 2019.
The EDGE Improv delivers their riotous antics on First Saturdays all year long, and BPA Theatre School trains and showcases a rising generation of actors throughout the year.
"What a great show!" - "I should do that more often!" - "That was magical!" If thoughts like these follow you out of the theater, then it's time for you to become a BPA subscriber! Stay tuned for our subscriber launch in March 2018.
