Dixon Place's annual HOT! Festival will feature a one-night-only concert reading of Ben Bonnema's Boys Who Tricked Me on July 29th at 7:30pm. Called 'heart-healing musical theatre' by Joshua Barone of The New York Times, the show is a song-cycle, party-game, sleepover-style musical. It was previously developed at the Musical Theatre Factory and features songs of "love gone wrong, lust gone right, and that nagging fear that you will die alone."
Director Shakina Nayfack (Difficult People) says, "It's like spending the night in your parents' basement with all the gay best friends you never knew you had." The audience is encouraged to show up in their pajamas.
Boys Who Tricked Me stars Remy Germinario (Bradley Cole), Michael DeSouza (Once Upon A Mattress), and Larry Owens (Gigantic). It will feature musical direction by Jacob Yates.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit dixonplace.org/performances/boys-who-tricked-me.
