2011 Tony Award-nominee Rory O'Malley (Book of Mormon) confirmed on Twitter today that he and his boyfriend Gerald Schroeder are the same-sex couple featured in a new Gap ad revealed this week.

O'Malley Tweeted: "@geroldschroeder & I are honored 2 be in @Gap's BE ONE ad. Thanks @sethfarbman & @caroladelmarle for making it happen!"

According to a report by Jezebel, J.C. Penney, Abercrombie & Fitch, J. Crew, Levi's, Prada and Dolce & Gabanna have preceded Gap in including same-sex couples in their ad campaigns.

O'Malley received both Tony and Drama Desk nominations for the role of openly closeted Mormon Elder McKinley in THE BOOK OF MORMON, and is also co-founder of Broadway Impact, the first and only grassroots organization to mobilize the nationwide theater community in support of marriage equality.
