"How much are you willing to change for the oNe You love?" is the premise of Bay Street's first Main Stage production of the 2009 Summer Season, the betwitching romantic comedy Bell, Book and Candle. Written by John Van Druten, the play served as the inspiration for the hit television series Betwitched and was also a 1958 film starring Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart.

Bell, Book & Candle is set in Manhattan's east side, where a witch thinks her buttoned-down neighbor is perfectly fine but can't stand his fiance. She decides to use magic to stop her neighbor from marrying, until she is confronted with an unexpected twist. Will love trump magic? And whose love trumps whose?

Returning to Bay Street is renowned Tony-award winning Director, Jack Hofsiss. A Bay Street favorite, Mr. Hofsiss' Broadway credits are numerous, with Elephant Man garnering him the coveted Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Obie, and New York Drama Critics Awards. His film and television credits include I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can with Jill Clayburgh, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Jessica Lange, and The Oldest Living Graduate with Henry Fonda.

Mr. Hofsiss will oversee an award-winning team of talent, including actors Arija Bareikis as Gillian Holyroyd (TV's "Southland," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Without a Trace"), Sam Robards as Shepherd Henderson (Broadway's The 39 Steps and Tony nominee in The Man Who Had All The Luck, and TV's "Gossip Girl"), Matt McGrath as Nick Holyroyd (Broadway's Cabaret, A Streetcare Named Desire, and film Boys Don't Cry.) Gordana Rashovich as Miss Holyroyd (Master Class and TV's The Wire and Mad Men), and Jarlath Conroy as Sidney Redlitch (Broadway's On the Waterfront, The Iceman Cometh, The Seagull).

The award winning talent on stage will be backed by equal caliber off stage. The production team includes Bay Street's very own Gary Hygom donning his hat as Set Designer, whose previous design work at Bay Street includes Tommy, Limonade Tous Les Jours, and Hair. He will be joined by Costume Designer Toni Leslie-James, Lighting Designer Paul Miller, Sound Designer Jill B.C. DuBoff, Prop Designer Kathy Fabian, Production Manager Chris Clark and Casting Director Cindy Tolan.

Bell, Book and Candle previews Tuesday, June 2 through Friday, June 5th, with opening night

Saturday, June 6th. The shows run Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, and Sundays at

7pm, with matinees beginning Wednesday, June 10 at 2pm and Saturdays after that at 4pm

The program will be offered all day for the first preview performance of each Main Stage show(June 2nd), and for all matinee performances. Twofer tickets are based on availability, day of only, and must be purchased in person at the Bay Street Box Office, located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.
