Producers Michael Alden, Stefany Bergson and Rodger Hess have announced that Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer will host a special book signing session at off-Broadway's Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street), home of Becoming Dr. Ruth, today, November 27 following 2:00PM performance (3:45 - 4:30PM) and prior to the 7:00PM performance (5:30 - 6:15PM).
America's favorite sex therapist, Dr. Ruth, will sign copies of her bestselling books Sex for Dummies and Musically Speaking. In addition, playwright Mark St. Germain will join Dr. Ruth to sign copies of the Becoming Dr. Ruth script, with a special appearance by star Debra Jo Rupp.
The book signing will be open to ticketholders for today's, November 27 matinee and evening performances only.
Additionally, following the 7:00PM performance today, November 27 audience members will be invited to stay in their seats to hear Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer, Mark St. Germain and Debra Jo Rupp discuss the play, and ask their own questions.
Everyone knows Dr. Ruth Westheimer from her career as a pioneering radio and television sex therapist. Few, however, know the incredible journey that preceded it. From fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport and joining the Haganah in Jerusalem as a scout and sniper, to her struggles to succeed as a single mother coming to America, Becoming Dr. Ruth is filled with the humor, honesty and life-affirming spirit of Karola Ruth Siegel, the girl who became "Dr. Ruth", America's most famous sex therapist.
As previously announced, Dr. Ruth will also host talkbacks following the 7:00PM performances on November 20th and December 18th.
Tickets are available by calling 212-239-6200, TeleCharge online and at The Westside Theatre box office (407 West 43rd Street, New York, NY 10036). Box office hours are 12PM-6PM, Tuesday - Sunday. For information on group tickets please contact:
