Symphony Space will present "Beats, Rhymes & Breaking" with Manzana City Crew and "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" this March. Details below!

Saturday, March 8, 11 am:
Beats, Rhymes & Breaking with Manzana City Crew
From head spins to windmills, and from 6-step to the trusty pop and lock, this New York City based hip-hop collective will present a unique program of jaw-dropping break dance action.

As Manzana City Crew collective member William Rodriguez says, "Through the art form of break dancing we use our bodies and spirits to create thought-provoking and inspiring performances for all ages. Our shows push the limits, and go beyond what the audience expects the human body can achieve." In addition to a riveting morning of moves and music, kids will walk away with a few hot moves of their own to keep them active this winter.

Saturday, March 15, 11 am and 2 pm:
We're Going on a Bear Hunt
Join intrepid adventurers on their quest to find a bear, as they wade through the gigantic swishy-swashy grass, the splishy-splashy river and the thick oozy, squelchy mud. Adapted from the popular children's book written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, this UK-based theatrical event mixes catchy songs and plenty of onomatopoeia with interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure. The story is brought vividly and noisily to the stage in director Sally Cookson's fun-filled adaptation set to Benji Bower's versatile lively score. It's a super introduction to theatre for the youngest tots, and there's something for all ages, too.
