Broadway Bares: Solo Strips (#bwaybares) brings all the sizzling sexiness of Broadway Bares to a smaller, more intimate venue. Enjoy choreographed, solo stripteases by nine of Broadway Bares' sexiest male dancers as they take it off to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Tickets for Broadway Bares: Solo Strips go on sale today. A limited number of premium reserved table seats are available for $100; additional reserved table seats are $40. This year's lineup of Broadway Bares: Solo Strips performers includes Joshua Michael Brickman (Broadway Bares 23), Joshua Buscher(Big Fish, Broadway Bares 19-21), Anthony Rooar DeCarlis (Broadway Bares 21-23), Todd Hanebrink (Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity), Vince Oddo (Rocky), Ricky Schroeder (Broadway Bares 22-23), Michael Scirrotto (Broadway Bares 19), Sheldon Tucker (Bring It On: The Musical, Broadway Bares 21-23) and Ryan Worsing (Chicago, Broadway Bares 21, 23).
Broadway Bares: Solo Strips will be directed by Tony Spinosa (La Cage aux Folles). Doors open one hour prior to the show. All reserved table seats require an additional two-drink minimum.
Broadway Bares began in 1992 when Jerry Mitchell, then a performer in The Will Rogers Follies, organized a benefit burlesque show featuring himself and six friends performing original strips at a bar for a $10 donation plus whatever tips the audience gave the dancers. Mitchell, now a Tony Award-winning director and choreographer, is executive producer ofBroadway Bares, which is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Broadway Bares: Solo Strips is a sexy tease for Broadway Bares, one of BC/EFA's annual signature events. Broadway Bares 24 will feature 200 of New York's most desirable dancers. The show will be directed by Nick Kenkel (Catch Me If You Can, Peepshow, Legally Blonde), who also directed Broadway Bares 23. This year's theme and special celebrity guests will be announced soon.
Broadway Bares 24 will be held Sunday, June 22 with two performances only at 9:30 PM & Midnight at Hammerstein Ballroom, located in the Manhattan Center (311 West 34th Street). Broadway Cares awards annual grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide and is the major supporter of the social service programs at The Actors Fund, including the HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative and the Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic.
