BC/EFA Steps Up Security Measures for BROADWAY BARES in the Wake of Orlando Shooting

While the Tony Awards dedicated Sunday night's broadcast to the victim's of the Orlando shooting, others have been sending support and voicing concern and outrage over the horrible incident. In the wake of the events, Broadway Cares has just announced that extra security measures will be in place for next week's Broadway Bares:

The 26th annual edition of BROADWAY BARES goes live onstage at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom for two ratings-raising shows at 9:30 pm and midnight. Special guests for the evening will be announced later.

BROADWAY BARES combines the naughtiness of burlesque with the glamour of Broadway. The event, which began in 1992, has become one of BC/EFA's signature events. The show was created by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (On Your Feet!, Kinky Boots), who serves as executive producer.

The first BROADWAY BARES featured Mitchell and six friends stripping on a bar and raised $8,000. To date, the 25 editions of BROADWAY BARES have raised more than $14.3 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

For the fourth year in a row, the show will be directed by Nick Kenkel (Catch Me If You Can,Peepshow, Legally Blonde).

Tickets for BROADWAY BARES: On Demand range from $50 to $3,000. VIP tickets include unlimited specialty cocktails and seats from special viewing areas.
