Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announce May "double header" editions of BROADWAY BARES events featuring the hottest men currently on and off Broadway. The first of the May events BROADWAY BARES: ROOFTOP STRIPS will be held Sunday, May 9 at Hudson Terrace (621 West 46th Street between 10th and 11th Aves). On Sunday May 16, Splash (50 West 17th Street) will play host to the latest edition of BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS. Both shows will have two performances at 8 PM and 10 PM.

SOLO STRIPS offers a return to the origins of BROADWAY BARES when, in 1992, Jerry Mitchell organized a burlesque show featuring him and six friends performing original choreographed strips on the bar at Splash for a $10 donation plus whatever tips the audience gave to the dancers. BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS and ROOFTOP STRIPS will, once again, feature hot dancers performing original strips for tips and a $10 donation at the door.

Tony Award-winning director/choreographer and BROADWAY BARES creator Jerry Mitchell said, "Things are heating up! As the temps climb the clothes come off. I hope you can join me and my BROADWAY HOTTIES as we "STRIP" towards our 1 million dollar goal for Broadway Bares 20. All your sweaty cash goes towards this year BROADWAY BARES 20: STRIP-OPOLY coming in June. Help us "get it up" for the big event!"

The May 9 edition will take place atop of the breathtaking Hudson Terrace (621 West 46th Street between 10th and 11th Aves) and is aptly named "ROOFTOP STRIP." Helming this production will be Broadway veteran Christopher F. Davis (Miss Saigon, The Life). Scheduled to shake their stuff on the roof are: Ephraim Sykes (Memphis), Tim Taylor (Going the Distance), Giovanni Perez (West Side Story Intl. tour) and Casey Lee Ross (Step Up). ROOFTOP STRIP is produced in conjunction with Josh Wood Productions, NYC's leading nightlife, live event and promotion company.

Tickets for BROADWAY BARES: ROOFTOP STRIP are $5 and can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.

On May 16, the boys of SOLO STRIPS return to Splash (50 West 17th Street) to explore dual personalities and perform multiple strips with BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS "NAUGHTY AND NICE." The evening will be directed by BROADWAY BARES 19 director Peter Gregus and feature choreography by Shea Sullivan and Dontee Kiehn. Stepping up to "the pole" to perform will be Matt Anctil (RCMH Christmas Spectacular), Andrew Cheng (Chicago natl. tour), Reed Kelly (Wicked), Eddie Rabon (Broadway Bares 19), Jermaine Rembert (Memphis), Robb Sherman (Broadway Bares 19), Dennis Stowe (Shrek the Musical), and Charlie Sutton (The Addams Family). Marty Thomas (Xanadu) returns to host.

Tickets for BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS "NAUGHTY & NICE" are $10 and can be purchased in advance at www.broadwaycares.org or at the door on the day of the event.

BROADWAY BARES is the hotly anticipated annual event combining the naughtiness of burlesque and the razzle-dazzle of Broadway and has been a smashing success since its inception in 1992. Created by Jerry Mitchell, the event features the hottest male and female dancers on Broadway and has become one of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS' signature events. The 2010 edition, BROADWAY BARES: STRIP-OPOLY will be held at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street) on Sunday June 20 with performances at 9:30 PM and midnight.
