This brand new weekly open mic night is highly recommended for show-tune lovers, Broadway enthusiasts, "Gleeks", fans of Charles Nelson Reilly, and anyone who ever wanted to do their own dream ballet. Come join us and pay homage to the old Village Gate, a nightclub/theater that opened in the late 50's and premiered a number of Off-Broadway shows, including Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, in 1968.
Hosted by ultimate theater nerd Kevin Michael Murphy(If It Only Even Runs a Minute, Craig Stevens Guide to Making it on Broadway), with guest accompanist, Molly Gachignard, on the keys, this weekly shindig features performances by fancy Broadway guests, all the latest showbiz gossip, and plenty of witty banter to boot! Come down, grab a cocktail, and why not belt out a few tunes? Sundays at 9:30pm. Gallery Bar @ (Le) Poisson Rouge. Free admission.
Sunday, December, 19th, we will be featuring a performance by Jeff Hiller(Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and celebrating the songs of Brent Black(I'll Be Damned). There will also be an open mic for folks from the audience to get up and sing their favorite holiday songs, or a showtune from one of the 250 scores we have on hand.
Other comedic performers featured are: Alan Starzinski and Tara Merdjanoff. (le) Poisson Rouge is located at 158 Bleeker Street in Manhattan. Admission is free!
