After an outstanding re-creation of George Harrison's, "Concert for Bangladesh" last November at BB's, Wonderous Stories will now re-create "Tommy" using very special guests, visual images and lighting to enhance the show. Relying mostly on the music from the original rock album, there will be an occasional nod to music from the movie and the Broadway show . There will also be another set of "Who" music following the rock opera.

NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES, New York City's legendary STEVIE NICKS homage, returns for its nineteenth annual edition on May 1 at THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM. NOTS 19: SONGS OF RHIANNON will be a May Day marathon of twirling and enchantment, produced by the JACKIE FACTORY NYC. This year's theme - and the centerpiece of the show - are the ten "SONGS OF RHIANNON" penned by STEVIE NICKS in her BUCKINGHAM NICKS days. Some are well loved and well known, like RHIANNON, PLANETS OF THE UNIVERSE, ANGEL and SORCERER, others are only demos. In stage decor, visuals and costuming, NOTS 19 pays homage to the Celtic white witch RHIANNON - fitting for a date that is both MAY DAY and BELTANE. The ever-growing bill features many of the unique and timeless stars that make "The Night" so special, and the search is now on for this year's new discoveries, to be announced in early March. Returning Legends of Stevie Realness include NYC Dragstars (and Project Runway supermodels) Sherry Vine and SWEETIE, perennial NOTS divas THE HO-HOs (CATHY CERVENKA and JILL PANGALLO), AMBER GARBO (Las Vegas), GYPSY WILDE, NOTS 19 cover girl JAZMEN FLOWERS (Mississippi), BILLY O, CHARLENE CORAN (Colorado), HEATHER LITTEER (aka JESSICA RABBIT DOMINATION), LIZZIE DAVIS (Texas), THE DIVINE GRACE, PREL (of Georgia's BLUE LAMP events), AMBER RAY with THE HOUSE OF DOMINATION, TIFFANEY (of MIRROR IN THE SKY), and singer/songwriter Adam Joseph. Show producers CHI CHI VALENTI and HATTIE HATHAWAY will serve as "Enchantresses of Ceremony" and all-Stevie/Fleetwood DJs CRAIG SPENCER, SAMMY JO and POISON EVE will keep the dancefloor Hopelessly Enchanted between show sets. Suggested Dress: Rhiannon Realness, Important Celtic Jewelry, Black Roses, Wizard Sleeves, Enchanted Eveningwear, May Day Maiden, Lindsey Or John McVie Warlock Effects, Birds of Rhiannon wings and feathers, Best Pre-Raphaelite Hair In Rock and Roll, Thistle Accents, Sorcerer Capes and Cloaks, Bedazzled and Beribboned Tambourines or Welsh Witch (Dark Ages to Darkwave). NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES is the biggest and best-loved STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, one of those great New York City spectacles that sparks travel from all around the globe. Born in 1990 at the tiny performance venue MOTHER, "The Night" has run for eighteen years, even inspiring the 2001 film GYPSY 83. Neither a contest nor a karaoke show, NOTS is the Stevie celebration ne plus ultra - a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. As always, the night will climax with the heart-stopping BATTLE OF A THOUSAND STEVIES, as all the show's performers and longtime fans take the stage for a final dose of "Total Stevie Realness".

Sunday May 31
OPERA ON TAP Matinee

NB: Previously scheduled for April 6; all 4/6 tickets honored
Doors at 1:00pm, Show at 2:00pm
$10
In 2005 we created OPERA ON TAP as a performance outlet for our friends and ourselves. We wanted an opera "gig" in the vein of the New York rock or jazz gig. Freddy's Bar and Backroom provided us with the opportunity. It was an affordable way to have fun together and work on our music at the same time... Guess what else happened...We discovered a new audience starved for intense, acoustic, musical experiences! At Opera on Tap performers are allowed to let their hair down, wear jeans, drink beer and try out new repertoire FOR AN AUDIENCE! There is no pressure for perfection. Opera on Tap gives the artists an opportunity to communicate the joy and exuberance they feel in the music by getting away from the stuffy atmosphere of the concert hall or educational institution. Providing the artist and the audience with "room to breathe" draws in new listeners who respond to the honesty and energy of the performances. Many people who come to Opera on Tap are people who have never set foot in an opera house. The response? Overwhelming.

Unless otherwise noted, all shows at both venues are suitable for all ages and offer general admission seating. Both venues are full-scale restaurants with a fully stocked bar, serving food and drink throughout all shows. Please be aware that a $10 per person food and/or beverage minimum is standard for table seating during all shows. Standing room, at our bar, does not require a minimum.
