BANANA SPHEEL Amps Up Production, Delays Previews to 3/17

Banana Shpeel, the latest Cirque du Soleil production, has shifted its performance dates and will now begin previews in New York on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 (rather than February 25) at the Beacon Theatre. The rehearsal period at the theatre has been extended to integrate new performance elements. A new opening night date as yet to be announced.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, the Beacon Theatre officially welcomed the production on Wednesday and unveiled the marquee.

Banana Shpeel from Cirque du Soleil is a roller coaster mix of styles that blends intense choreography, crazy comedy and distinctive acrobatic acts. The show offers a diverse spectrum of performances including tap, hip-hop and eccentric dance, slapstick comedy and Cirque du Soleil acrobatic acts - plus madcap characters spreading chaos in all directions.

Those who purchased tickets for performances between February 25 and March 14 will be offered tickets to another performance of their choice based on availability.
