The 2011 Next Wave Festival is complemented by music, humanities, film, and visual art events.

Brooklyn, NY/May 24, 2011-Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM), today announced programming for the 2011 Next Wave Festival, which runs from September 21 to December 18. The Festival, now in its 29th year, comprises 17 music, dance, and theater engagements and includes BAMcinématek series, BAMcafé Live weekend music performances, Artist Talks, Next Wave Art exhibitions, and the Between the Lines storytelling series.
September 2011 marks the start of a 16-month celebration of BAM's 150th anniversary, featuring commemorative events, special programs, and the publication of BAM: The Complete Works (Quantuck Lane)-a narrative and visual chronicle of the institution and its artists. Scheduled for unveiling in 2012 is the newest addition to the BAM campus-the Richard B. Fisher building, the first new BAM venue since the Majestic Theater (now BAM Harvey Lichtenstein Theater) opened in 1987.
