AzN PoP!, an all Asian, female, musical sketch comedy group makes their hour long debut at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater on Monday, November 20th. They recently wrapped up a successful eight month run of their twenty-five minute show, "AzN PoP!: Live in Concert!" at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City and Los Angeles. PBS Newshour praised their show for their "biting satire with K-Pop cuteness." Their show at Joe's Pub is an extended version of this same concert.

AzN PoP! is comprised of Maya Deshmukh, Iliana Inocencio, Anna Suzuki, Angel Yau, and Ann Marie Yoo. All five members wrote and star in the show. It is directed by Leslie Meisel, with choreography by Dave Mizzoni. The hour long version also includes some musical arrangements by Henry Koperski.

"AzN PoP!: Live in Concert!" is a musical sketch comedy show. Using elements from KPop, JPop, and 90s American girl bands, AzN PoP! takes the audience on a musical and hilarious journey like you've never seen before. Band members, Baby Rice (Iliana Inocencio), Quirky Rice (Angel Yau), Edgy Rice (Anna Suzuki), Competitive Rice (Ann Marie Yoo), and Brown Rice (Maya Deshmukh) dance, sing, and rap about boys, friendship, and systemic racism/oppression. They all represent different countries in Asia respectively: The Philippines, China, Japan, Korea, and India and shed light on what is it is to be Asian in America.

AzN PoP!: Live in Concert!, will be at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater for one night only on Monday, November 20, at 9:30 pm. Tickets are available here: https://joespub.publictheater.org/
