The Pen Parentis Literary Salons resume after a hurricane-induced hiatus to welcome all avid readers to the private dining room at Wall and Water, the second-floor restaurant in Andaz Wall Street (75 Wall Street) from 7pm – 9:30pm tonight, December 11th, 2012, for an evening of convivial conversation, readings and book signings by a group of four exciting authors: Robin Black (O.Magazine summer pick), Karl Taro Greenfeld (Triburbia), Josh Henkin (NYTimes/LA Times Notable), and Amy Sohn (NYTimes Bestseller). General admission is as always complimentary, but as a Pen Parentis fundraiser post-Sandy, we are offering special VIP access to the authors for any donation over $75.
After a night of readings and mingling over drinks at the Conde Nast Gold List location, the authors will participate in a brief panel discussion about how they balance successful literary careers with an active family life. The discussion will be moderated by Pen Parentis founder M. M. De Voe and curator Arlaina Tibensky. Cash bar upstairs, full top-shelf bar downstairs. Books available for purchase from Bluestockings Books; authors will be signing and mingling with audience during the entire event. Live music by Jon Donnel on acoustic guitar.
Pen Parentis Literary Salons are made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. They are also funded in part by The Fund for Creative Communities with public funds from The New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
A wonderful way to spend a Tuesday night – celebrate literature in a downtown location that made the Conde Nast Gold List for 2012. Everyone (21+) is welcome.
