Author Kurt Boone Promotes SUBWAY BEATS at Mid-Manhattan Library

Native New Yorker and freelance writer Kurt Boone (center) was joined by performers (from l-r) Rosa Teresa, Matthew Christian of Busk NY, Lawrence Rush and Heidi Kole at his November 14th "Author @ the Library" illustrated lecture at the New York Public Library's Mid-Manhattan branch for his newly released book "Subway Beats: Celebrating New York City Buskers, " (Schiffer Publishing).

The performers are among the 268 color images featured in the book which has been commended for "presenting the performers who collectively express the soul of the Big Apple while entertaining thousands of commuters and visitors daily."

Boone - New York City's celebrated messenger poet - (the fastest foot messenger in the city) has been profiled in all of the city's major newspapers and served as a contributor to PBS "Metro Focus" and "Narratively." He is the author or several books including "On The Subway", "New York Alleycats", "Urban Theory: Critical Thoughts In America" "Messenger Poet" and "Asphalt Warrior."
