Five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway superstar and recognizable small screen presence Audra McDonald returns to Carnegie Hall for a solo concert later this year according to a new announcement.
McDonald will perform selections from her new studio album FIRST YOU DREAM as well as other material made famous over the course of her career at the December 12 concert.
The official description of Audra McDonald at Carnegie Hall is as follows: "Musical America's 2014 Musician of the Year, winner of five Tony and two Grammy awards, and an artist The New York Times called "... a one-of-a-kind musical super-talent"-lights up the Carnegie Hall stage."
Additionally, McDonald's concert is part of The Originals series, described as such: "Daring, inventive, and always captivating-these are the qualities that define an original. This series features the soulful South African voices of Ladysmith Black Mambazo; Grammy Award-winning vocalist Angélique Kidjo celebrating the life and music of iconic South African singer and political activist Miriam Makeba; and the radiant Audra McDonald, winner of five Tony and two Grammy awards."
Of note, tickets to the event go onsale on August 25.
