Four-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald will be one of the stars of "The Bedford Diaries," a new WB drama that beginning on March 22nd, will air Wednesday evenings at 9 PM ET.
McDonald will join Matthew Modine, Milo Ventimiglia, Ernest Waddell, Victoria Cartagena, Corri English, Peter Gerety,
Tiffany DuPont, and Penn Badgley in the show; she will play Professor Carla Bonatella.
Set on a Manhattan college campus, the show is a drama that follows the lives of a group of young students--some of whom are taking part in a seminar on human behavior that encourages them to talk about their sexuality. The show also focuses on the students' relationships with their teachers.
No stranger to television, McDonald was previously a regular on the now-cancelled NBC series "Mister Sterling." McDonald won Tony Awards for her performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime and most recently, A Raisin in the Sun. She has also appeared on Broadway in Henry IV and Marie Christine. Way Back to Paradise, How Glory Goes and Happy Songs are her solo albums. McDonald's film and television credits include It Runs in the Family, Cradle Will Rock, "Law and Order: SVU," the telemusical of Annie, and the HBO movie Wit. She is also acclaimed as a concert artist.
