Atlanta's Fox Theatre Makes Statement on Theater of the Stars Financial Trouble

Yesterday we reported about the dire financial straights that Atlanta's Theater of the Stars is currently in, needing to raise $500,000 by July 12th, and an additional $500,000 by August 30th if the theater is to remain in business. We've got full details, right here.

This morning, we've received a statement from Atlanta's Fox Theatre President and CEO, Allan Vella:

We are disappointed that Theater of the Stars has cancelled the upcoming engagement of BUDDY -The Buddy Holly Story and we are concerned about their need to conduct an emergency fundraising campaign or cease to operate if their financial goals are not met. The Fox Theatre has played host to Theater of the Stars productions since 1984 and Theater of the Stars has been a part of our history and success. The Fox Theatre has been empathetic of the economic challenges Theater of the Stars has faced in the past and has supported Theater of the Stars in numerous ways since they first began presenting shows at the Fox Theatre. We sincerely hope that they are able to recover from this fiscal challenge.

Customers who purchased single tickets for BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story (July 9 - 14, 2013) at the Fox Theatre ticket office or at a Fox Theatre Outlet should contact the Fox Theatre Ticket Office by phone at 404-881-2017 or by email at boxoffice@foxtheatre.org to obtain a full refund. Refunds will only be made in the same method of payment used to originally purchase the tickets at the box office. Customers who purchased tickets online or by phone will automatically receive a refund to the credit card used for purchasing tickets within 5-10 business days. Group Tickets will be refunded in the same method of payment used to originally purchase tickets. All group payments made by check will be refunded by check within 5-10 business days. Season Ticket Holders for Theater of the Stars should contact Theater of the Stars directly at 404-252-8960 to obtain a refund for their purchase.
