Athena Reich Is Lady Gaga in #ARTBIRTH, Beg. 8/17 in NYC

Award-winning comic actress and leading Lady Gaga tribute artist Athena Reich launches her latest show, "Athena Reich as Lady Gaga in #ARTBIRTH". Co-written and directed by Jack Trinco, this one woman show features Reich's latest comic character, Pregnant Gaga.

"Athena Reich as Lady Gaga in #ARTBIRTH" premieres Sunday August 17th at 7pm at THIS Theater at 154 W 29th Street, 2nd Floor (tix: $10) and also makes an appearance at The Magnet Theater (as part of TEST DRIVE) on Sunday August 24th at 6pm at 254 W 29th Street (tix: $5)

#ARTBIRTH combines vaudevillian comedy with ARTPOP outrageousness. The premise is that Lady Gaga is pregnant and she is going to give birth in front of her most devoted fans. In the words of Reich and Trinco, "#ARTBIRTH will revolutionize the way you think about babies, motherhood and life after birth. There will be lots of dancing, singing and barfing. Come and see her baby be Born This Way."

Having been featured in Page 6, Athena is a crowd favorite who's received acclaim from "little monsters" and even Gaga herself. Earlier this year at SXSW Gaga praised, "[Athena] can my use my image whenever and however she wants."

The concept behind Pregnant Gaga was birthed when Athena starting undergoing infertility treatments and wondered, "What if Gaga was pregnant?"

ABOUT ATHENA - Athena Reich is a comic actress who won Best Comedy Improv on YTV (Canada) with judge Eugene Levy. She is an advanced student at the Upright Citizen's Brigade and can be seen performing at UCB, The Pit and The Magnet. Recent credits include White Collar, "An Evening with Donald Kempinski" (Little Fella Films) and "I Hope They Serve Beer on Broadway". She is co-writer/performer in Hush: Inside the Waiting Womb, which played at the Hudson Theater in LA, and the Player's Club in NYC. Athena Reich has been performing as a Lady Gaga Impersonator at theaters and events since 2010. Her 90 minute tribute show, "We Are All Superstars", (featuring a cast of dancers) premiered in February 2014 at the Arcadia Theater in Windber, PA.

ABOUT JACK - Jack Trinco is an actor, singer, writer, and an all-around clown. He has appeared on many stages in New York including Dixon Place, Symphony Space, and the Atrium at Lincoln Center in a variety of projects. He is thrilled to be working with Athena Reich on #ARTBIRTH.
