Atalla Ayan will sing in the Met's Summer Recital Series on Wednesday at Brooklyn Bridge Park, replacing Dimitri Pittas, who is ill.
Atalla Ayan, a former member of the Met's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, sang his first performance with the Met on Monday night at Central Park SummerStage. In 2011-12, he will sing Rodolfo in La Bohème with Glyndebourne on Tour and begin a three-year association with the Stuttgart State Opera, where he will appear as Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, and Rodolfo in a new production of La Bohème.Ayan joins soprano Angela Meade, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano, and pianist Bradley Moore in Wednesday's recital of opera arias and ensembles, which begins at 7:00 p.m. The Met's Summer Recital Series continues on Tuesday, July 19 at Crotona Park in The Bronx.
